"Launched on March 1st, 2004, Penderyn was the first single malt distillery in wales in over 100 years. The whisky is distilled in a specially-commissioned unique whisky still (known as a Faraday Still) producing a flavorful spirit at 92% abv which is married with fresh spring water drawn from directly beneath the distillery. This pure water source is replenished by rain water that flows through the soil and filters through to near-surface rocks within the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Penderyn is known for its delicate, yet flavorful spirit, this distillery is gaining fanfare throughout the world and in the US.
Penderyn Sherry Wood is matured in ex-bourbon barrels and ex-Oloroso Sherry casks which are then married together – a change from their classic expression, which is finished in Madeira casks. This is bottled at 46% ABV.
